THE LONG
Hi, my name is Gemma Tonks and I am a married mother of 3 (6 if you include the furry ones) from Wakefield, West yorkshire.
Whilst raising children, I embarked on numerous career paths including 2 previous businesses but nothing seemed to really satisfy my artistic side.
Semi permanent make up was something I had done many years ago and loved the result. But it wasn't until a few years later in 2017, that I began to think about it as a possible career path for myself. At the time I was running another business that worked perfectly around the children and home life, so continued to build and develop that business for the next 5 years. As time went on and the kids got older, as did I, it became something I could no longer hold off and decided to bite the bullet and find some training.
A few years earlier I had contacted Finishing Touches Group, just for some insight into the logistics of the training, so naturally I contacted them again in 2022 when I was ready to embark on the micro pigmentation journey.
The company and the training were second to none and I left with a nationally recognised VTCT Level 4 in micro-pigmentation.
I believe that everyone should be allowed to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin no matter what age, sex or social class. I love working with people that have never considered themselves as a micro pigmentation candidate, and seeing their amazement at the fact that there really is something for everyone. Semi permanent make up doesnt have to be bold, obvious or over done. It can be soft, subtle and understated.
Educating my clients on the available procedures and predicted results is one of my favourite parts of the job. Whether it's female hair loss or male eyelash enhancement, making people aware that there are simple, non invasive solutions to their issues is what gives me job satisfaction.
In the future I hope to undertake further training in scar camouflage, areola reconstruction and male eyebrows to offer more paramedical tattooing as part of my services.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I look forward to welcoming you to my clinic
